MIDORI 1 Year Dog Diary

MIDORI 1 Year Dog Diary

The MIDORI 1 Year Dog Diary offers an approachable way to record everyday experiences alongside Natsumi Teraoka’s colourful dog illustrations. Its undated 384-day format, practical two-days-per-page layout and smooth white MD Paper make regular journaling easier to begin and maintain.

Ideal for dog lovers, new journal keepers and anyone looking for a thoughtful Japanese stationery gift.

Colourful dogs by Natsumi Teraoka

The artwork was created by popular Japanese illustrator Natsumi Teraoka. Her rounded dogs, expressive poses and vivid lines capture familiar moments from daily life with a canine companion.

Four full-colour designs alternate throughout the diary. Bright tones and rainbow-like outlines give the pages a cheerful personality while leaving the writing area clear and easy to use.

Start on any date

The diary is completely undated. You enter each date yourself, so there is no need to begin in January and no printed calendar pages are wasted if your routine is interrupted.

Unlike a conventional planner, it is intended primarily for reflection rather than future scheduling. Use it to record what happened, how you felt, something you learned or a small moment you want to remember.

A manageable format covering 384 days

Its 192 pages follow a two-days-per-page layout, giving each daily entry approximately half a page. The space is large enough for a meaningful note without making journaling feel time-consuming.

Capacity for 384 days covers a complete year and provides additional entries for special occasions, longer reflections or occasional breaks. You can write every day or follow a more flexible routine without making the diary feel unfinished.

Use it as a personal journal, gratitude diary, family record, travel log or diary for your pet. Walks, amusing behaviour, training progress and memorable days with a dog can all become part of the story.

Make each page your own

The writing space can be combined with small drawings, stamps and stickers. MIDORI suggests using stickers like emojis to show a mood, highlight an experience or add a simple visual detail to an entry.

The illustrated pages provide a cheerful starting point while leaving enough freedom to develop a personal journaling style. Avoid placing too many thick decorations close to the spine so that the diary continues to close comfortably.

White MD Paper for comfortable writing

The diary uses white MD Paper, developed by MIDORI for smooth and controlled handwriting. It helps minimise feathering, ink bleed and show-through, making it suitable for fountain pens, rollerballs, ballpoint pens and pencils.

Performance may vary according to the ink, nib and amount applied. The white background provides clear contrast for handwriting and allows the colours of Teraoka’s illustrations to remain bright and easy to appreciate.

Durable binding and practical details

Thread-sewn binding improves durability and allows the pages to open comfortably while writing. An integrated ribbon bookmark keeps the current entry easy to find without folding page corners.

Its 180 × 130 mm format balances useful writing space with easy handling. The paper cover is protected by a fitted transparent matte PP cover that helps reduce wear during regular use.

Prefer a cat design?

The same practical 384-day format is available as the MIDORI 1 Year Cat Diary, featuring everyday feline scenes by Japanese illustrator Sayo Koizumi.

MIDORI history and philosophy

MIDORI began in Japan in 1950 as a manufacturer of paper products for writing and creative expression. Its name means “green” in Japanese, reflecting the brand’s longstanding sensitivity to nature, materials and the objects used in everyday life.

MIDORI continues to combine functional design, dependable materials and Japanese manufacturing expertise. This diary reflects that approach through a flexible layout, carefully developed writing paper and illustrations that make a daily writing habit feel more approachable.

“The best memories leave their own paw prints on paper.”
