MD PRODUCT A5 Square Clear Cover
The MD PRODUCT A5 Square Clear Cover protects a square-format notebook while preserving its clean, understated appearance. Its flexible construction follows the proportions of the A5 Square format and helps shield the covers from friction, dirt and minor everyday splashes. The notebook’s original surface and any personal decoration remain visible instead of being hidden inside an opaque case.
Clear protection that keeps the notebook in view
Designed to wrap gently around an MD Notebook A5 Square, the cover retains the light visual character associated with MD stationery. Its transparent finish displays the texture of the original jacket as well as drawings, labels, handwriting or decorations added by the owner. Practical protection becomes part of the notebook rather than changing its identity.
Fit the cover directly over the notebook or leave the original glassine paper jacket underneath. Keeping that paper layer in place gives the vinyl a softer visual effect and preserves the delicate look of the book. A built-in pen holder keeps a compatible fountain pen, ballpoint or pencil beside the pages when it is time to write.
Flexible PVC for lightweight protection
The cover is made from clear PVC, adding a discreet protective layer without the weight or bulk of a rigid case. It helps limit marks caused by frequent handling and contact with other objects inside a bag. This makes it a practical accessory for a notebook carried between home, university, the office or a journey.
Its square shape follows the distinctive proportions of the A5 Square notebook and makes the book easy to recognise at a glance. The sleeve is not intended to create a hard writing surface. Instead, it preserves the notebook’s flexible feel and restrained profile while helping its outer covers withstand regular use.
A pen loop is integrated into one side of the cover, keeping a writing instrument close without requiring a separate case for a single pen. Wider fountain pens and ballpoints should be checked before insertion so that they sit comfortably and do not place unnecessary pressure on the flexible material.
Compatibility with MD A5 Square notebooks
This reference is intended for the square format and can be paired with the MD Notebook Cotton A5 Square Blank. The notebook is sold separately.
A5 Square provides a broad, balanced page that works well for sketching, writing, visual planning or combining words and images. The cover follows this specific silhouette so the notebook can open and close naturally after its front and back covers have been placed inside the protective sleeves.
This item is not made for a conventional A5 notebook or the thicker A5 1 Day 1 Page diary. Those formats have different dimensions or spine widths and require their own dedicated covers. When pairing it with another A5 Square notebook, compare the notebook measurements with the specifications provided for this reference.

Frequently asked questions
Is a notebook included with the cover? No. The clear sleeve is supplied separately so it can be combined with a compatible MD Notebook A5 Square.
Will it fit a standard MD Notebook A5? No. A5 Square has different proportions and requires a dedicated cover. Conventional A5 notebooks and A5 1 Day 1 Page diaries use separate references.
Does it turn the notebook into a hardback? No. It is made from flexible PVC and protects the outer covers without changing the light, adaptable character of the notebook.
Brand history and philosophy
The story of MD PAPER began in the 1960s with the development of paper centred on the pleasure of writing. MD PRODUCT later carried the same attention into covers and accessories designed to support a notebook without concealing its character. This clear sleeve follows that approach through lightweight construction and functionality reduced to the essentials.
MD PRODUCT regards writing as a pause that helps organise thoughts and bring personal ideas into focus. The brand connects this experience with Yohaku, a valuable margin of calm in which reflection and honest expression can take place. Unnecessary decoration is removed so the paper, the hand and the writing instrument remain at the centre of the experience.
“A clear cover protects the space where words and images are free to find their own form.”
