Kobe ink Monogatari
Nagasawa kobe 03 Kyu kyoryuchi Sepia fountain pen ink.
After the earthquake that devastated the city of Kobe in 1995, Nagasawa, which had been part of the city since the late 19th century, set out to demonstrate that every corner of Kobe held a unique color.
The Kobe Ink Monogatari series captures these tones.
With the opening of the Port of Kobe, the settlement known as Kyoryuchi was created as a residential and trading area for foreigners.
Over time, its appearance has evolved along with Kobe’s history but has been carefully preserved.
Today, it is a well-known tourist spot called “Kyu-kyoryuchi”.
This area is associated with a sepia tone, symbolizing the peaceful urban landscape and an atmosphere of nostalgia.
