Kobe ink Monogatari
After the earthquake that devastated the city of Kobe in 1995, Nagasawa, which had been part of the city since the late 19th century, set out to demonstrate that every corner of Kobe held a unique color.
The Kobe Ink Monogatari series captures these tones.
“Ikuta-jinjya” in Kobe is one of the representative shrines in Japan. The forest within the precincts of the shrine is affectionately called “Ikuta-no-mori” by the people, and it is like an oasis in the center of Kobe.
The vermilion “Ikuta-jinjya” stands out against the contrast between the deep green of the forest and the blue of the sky.
This color is a proud and impressive vermillion color.
