Pilot Japan
(Pilot Custom 743 Black Soft Pluma Estilográfica)
The Pilot Custom 743 Black Soft is a refined writing instrument for those who value smoothness and expression in every stroke. While it maintains the elegant and professional look of the Custom 743 series, it features a special nib alloy that enhances softness and responsiveness.
Specifically, the “Soft” nibs of the Custom 743 line are crafted with an exceptional alloy that delivers a remarkably gentle feel and a constant ink flow, even during the boldest signatures. They are perfect for users who want a slightly springy touch without entering the realm of full flex nibs.
The pen features a glossy black resin body with gold accents and a medium-large format that offers perfect balance for extended writing sessions. The 14K gold nib (size 15) is available in three “Soft” variants: SF (Soft Fine), SFM (Soft Medium-Fine), and SM (Soft Medium). Each provides a controlled softness, offering character to the line without sacrificing stability or control.
The pen uses Pilot’s cartridge/converter system and comes equipped with a CON-70 converter, known for its generous ink capacity and steady flow — ideal for both daily writing and signature-heavy tasks.
Includes the Pilot Custom 743 Black Soft fountain pen with your chosen nib (SF, SFM or SM), the CON-70 converter pre-installed, official Pilot presentation box, and a surprise gift from Inktraveler selected to complement your writing experience.

Pilot never fails me, and neither do the lovely people at Inktra
I own pens of all three major Japanese brands (Sailor, Pilot, Platinum) and Pilot is by far my favorite brand of the three. I don't know how Pilot do it, but they manage to tune every nib perfectly out of the box. Both my 743 and my 823 came with a very juicy, well adjusted nib. Inktraveler doesn't only offer Pilot pens/nibs you'll have a hard time finding anywhere else outside of Japan, but they offer them at really competitive prices to boot.
