The Decimo model has a slimmer silhouette than earlier Capless designs. It is named “Decimo” to represent the tenth model in Pilot’s development of capless fountain pens. The body is thinner and lighter than standard versions, offering exceptional comfort for smaller hands or extended writing sessions. Its lacquered silver finish, paired with rhodium-plated details, reflects light softly and adds a subtle sophistication.

The nib deploys with a rear push-button mechanism: one click extends the 18K gold nib, another click retracts it into an airtight internal compartment. This patented system has earned Japan’s prestigious Good Design Award for its engineering and user-focused design.

Functionality and filling system

Even without a cap, the pen maintains perfect nib condition. The retractable mechanism seals the ink to prevent evaporation. It can be used with Pilot cartridges or the included CON-40 converter, allowing for bottled ink refills with ease and cleanliness.
