Ginkouka Japanese Paper Pad
L!FE Superfine Quality
The Eboya Ricchiku Kaze Green Medium fountain pen features a marbled green-blue and black ebonite body inspired by the shape of upright bamboo. Crafted without a clip for a smooth silhouette, it is equipped with a 14K gold nib and uses an international cartridge/converter filling system. Each piece is unique, with marbling patterns varying from pen to pen.
Eboya, the last factory dedicated to ebonite production in Japan. Each piece reflects a commitment to traditional craftsmanship and continuous innovation. The use of ebonite—one of the first polymers ever discovered—gives this pen a unique aesthetic: ebonite is produced by vulcanizing pure rubber with sulfur (between 25% and 50%), and its name comes from ebony, which it began to replace in certain applications due to its durability and natural shine. Engraved on its body, as with all the brand's pieces, is Eboya Made in Tokyo, a testament to its origin and excellence.
The Ricchiku (立竹) model literally means “standing bamboo” or “straight bamboo,” and its design is inspired by a bamboo stalk growing towards the sky. The Kaze finish—meaning “wind” in Japanese—combines a soothing teal marbled tone with a black base, creating a deep and harmonious visual effect. The marbled pattern appears randomly, making each piece unique: some show more black, others more teal. Since it is molded by extrusion, the cap top may present distinctive shapes such as stars, spirals, or irregular figures, while the “bamboo stem” section displays a mysterious pattern reminiscent of overlapping tree rings. This model has no clip, emphasizing its sleek and continuous silhouette.
Fitted with a carefully tuned 14K gold nib, the T Ricchiku Kaze Green Medium delivers smooth, precise, and well-balanced writing. It uses an international-type cartridge or converter filling system, compatible with brands like Pelikan or Rotring (not compatible with Montblanc, Waterman, or Caran d’Ache). Each body is turned and polished in Tokyo by the craftsmen of Nikko Ebonite Manufacturing. The perfect assembly of all its parts, combined with the color of its ebonite, results in a piece of great beauty and quality.

Eboya is the flagship brand of Nikko Ebonite Manufacturing, founded in 1952 and recognized as Japan’s last specialized ebonite manufacturer. For decades, it has supplied this material to major writing instrument companies such as Sailor and Pilot. In 2009, it launched its own line of fountain pens, blending technical expertise with Japanese aesthetic sensibility. Until 2016, production was overseen by master turner Noritoshi Kanesaki, a disciple of the legendary nibmeister Kubo Kohei, contributing a unique artisanal legacy. Today, Eboya continues to create writing instruments that are durable, comfortable, and finished with unmistakable quality.
"A jewel that unites Japanese spiritual tradition with excellence in writing."
