Fountain pen decorated with modern makie of autumn leaves over Kanazawa gold leaf. 18k gold nib. Gift inkwell included.
This fountain pen belongs to Platinum’s Kanazawa Gold Leaf collection, which pays tribute to Japanese nature through the art of modern maki-e on genuine gold leaf. The motif features Japanese maple leaves (“momiji”) in their vibrant transition of color during autumn—a traditional symbol in Japanese aesthetics and a metaphor for fleeting beauty.
The decoration is applied using the “scattered leaf” technique, with delicate gold and silver leaf from Kanazawa—a city renowned for centuries for its mastery in metal craftsmanship—set onto a lightweight AS resin body. A layer of transparent lacquer preserves and enhances the design’s brilliance and depth.
This slim and light pen houses a finely tuned 18k gold nib engineered to deliver a smooth, flexible writing experience with excellent resistance to acidic inks. Its balanced geometry allows for comfortable long writing sessions with minimal pressure.
The pen comes in a wooden paulownia box, and as a courtesy from Inktraveler, includes a complimentary inkwell.
To fully enjoy the nuance and ink performance of this pen, we recommend pairing it with premium Japanese paper such as Ginkouka Plain or Ginkouka Ruled. These papers are designed to highlight shading, color depth, and clarity without feathering.
Since 1919, Platinum Pen Co. has represented the pinnacle of Japanese writing instruments. By blending traditional techniques such as maki-e, urushi lacquer, and gold leaf with modern nib innovation, the brand creates fountain pens that are both functional tools and cultural expressions.
A fleeting moment of autumn preserved in gold—Japanese artistry translated into writing.

Calidad y estilo
Estupenda pluma y estupendas personas
