The Naginata togi nibs that fits these 1911 series fountain pens are more stylized than their standard equivalents, their hand-carved iridium in the shape of an ellipse achieves, on the one hand, a great smoothness to the writing, and on the other hand a variation of stroke, no by change in writing from horizontal to vertical as in traditional calligraphic, but by variation of the writing angle. Unlike other 1911 Large ones, those with special nibs have a redistribution of the weight to improve their balance and a central ring engraved with the legend Sailor 1911 Japan Special nib.
