Akebono (曙) means “dawn”: the moment when darkness begins to fade and the first light of day appears. Its ebonite combines red marbling with dark areas that evoke the reddish glow of sunrise through a bamboo forest. Burgundy, black and red nuances appear differently as the light moves across the pen.
The random distribution of the marbling makes every pen different. The cut of the ebonite rod may also reveal spirals, stars or irregular figures at the ends. A gold-tone metal clip creates a warm contrast with the body and allows the pen to be carried securely in a pocket or pen case.
