The Eboya Kyouka Kuroi Black Medium is a Japanese ebonite fountain pen crafted by the last factory in Japan dedicated to this material. Its clipless design and clean lines reflect authentic Japanese minimalism, offering a comfortable and smooth writing experience.
The Eboya Kyouka Kuroi Black Medium Fountain Pen is a masterpiece created by Eboya, the last factory dedicated to ebonite production in Japan. Each piece reflects a commitment to traditional craftsmanship and continuous innovation. The use of ebonite—one of the first polymers ever discovered—lends this pen a unique aesthetic: ebonite is produced by vulcanizing pure rubber with sulfur (between 25% and 50%), and its name derives from ebony, which it began to replace in certain applications due to its durability and natural shine. This colour is exclusive to Nikko Ebonite Manufacturing, and the engraving “Eboya Made in Tokyo” on the pen body is witness to its origin and excellence.
To preserve the finish, keep the pen out of direct sunlight and humid environments. Occasional polishing with a soft cloth is sufficient.

Fitted with a 14K gold nib (Bock), the Medium version delivers smooth, controlled, and precise writing. It uses an international standard cartridge/converter filling system, compatible with brands such as Pelikan or Rotring (not compatible with Montblanc, Waterman, or Caran d’Ache). Each body is individually crafted, continuing the tradition of Tokyo’s skilled workshops.
Founded in Tokyo, Eboya is the last factory in Japan exclusively dedicated to producing ebonite fountain pens. Its legacy is based on the fusion of centuries-old traditions and modern vulcanization techniques, offering products that combine durability, aesthetics, and functionality. Each model is meticulously polished and finished to meet the highest standards of Japanese craftsmanship.
