Concept and design

This model belongs to the Paintable Stamp series by Midori, which combines everyday functionality with charming illustrations. In this version, a group of cats surrounds the date, creating a whimsical frame that adds personality to every entry. What would otherwise be an ordinary date stamp becomes a decorative tool for journals, diaries, labels and gifts.

Functionality and usage

Turn the dial to select the day, month and one of the 12 included mood symbols. Use the stamp to mark important dates in your planner, organize your agenda, or add an official touch to sticky notes and memos.

It is also perfect for decorating birthday and anniversary cards, creating homemade expiry labels for food, or recording memorable moments in your diary. You can even color the impressions with water-based markers to turn them into small illustrations—the oil-based pigment ink won’t smudge.

Each stamp comes with a pre-inked pad good for around 2,000 impressions. Once the ink runs out, it can be easily refilled with official Midori refills such as the Midori Black Ink Refill for Paintable Stamp.

The mechanism works the same way as other Midori rotating stamps, as shown in this official YouTube video. The difference is that this date model requires only a single stamping action to print both the cat frame and the date at once.

Precautions for use

• Keep out of reach of children under 6 years old.
• If ink comes into contact with eyes or mouth, rinse immediately with tap water and consult a physician.
• Before use, read the enclosed instructions and insert the ink pad properly.
• Handle the ink pad carefully, as the ink may stain your fingers.
• If you will not use the stamp for a long period, remove the ink pad and store it with the cap closed. Leaving it installed too long may cause deformation.
• Test the stamp several times before first use to ensure ink covers the surface evenly.
• Always stamp on a flat surface.
• Do not press too hard, as this may cause ink bleeding and thick lines.
• Keep the printing side facing you to avoid stamping the design upside down.
• As the stamp uses oil-based ink, be careful not to stain clothes or fabrics.
• Depending on the type of paper, the ink may dry slowly, bleed or show through.
• Do not rub the rubber stamp face too strongly with fingers or sharp objects, as it may be damaged.
• Do not store near open flames or in high temperatures (such as inside a car in summer or under direct sunlight).
