Brand background
TOOLS to LIVEBY was founded in 2012 as a small stationery shop tucked away in a quiet alley of Taipei. The space resembles a vintage letterpress studio, complete with an antique cash register, wooden drawers filled with lead type, and a century-old printing press that has become the brand’s symbol. In 2013, TOOLS to LIVEBY opened its second physical store at the Pier-2 Art Center in Kaohsiung. Upon entering, visitors are greeted by a towering bookshelf and an elegant iron spiral staircase stretching upward. Nearby sits a vintage, ornate cash register, surrounded by classic stationery arranged in precise horizontal and vertical lines, complemented by hanging globes and sailing ship decorations — an atmosphere of timeless beauty and quiet inspiration.
