MD PRODUCT A4 Variant Cream Paper Cover
The MD PRODUCT A4 Variant Cream Paper Cover protects a compatible notebook while preserving the understated character of the MD range. It is light, flexible and pleasant to handle, adding everyday protection without turning the notebook into a rigid volume. It suits writers, designers, students and project planners who need a generous working format at home, in the studio or at the office.
Flexible protection made from Cordoba paper
The cover is made from Cordoba paper, a dense and durable material developed to provide a soft, supple feel similar to leather. It is nevertheless made entirely from paper. Its natural cream tone complements the restrained appearance of an MD Notebook and keeps the finished combination warm, tactile and unobtrusive. This is the flexible Paper version rather than a structured hard cover.
Designed for comfortable everyday use
The front and back notebook covers slide into the two internal pockets, creating a neat fit without complicated fastenings. The cover helps shield the notebook from friction, dirt and light creasing when carried between locations. Because it contains no rigid board, the notebook remains easy to handle and retains the natural flexibility that supports comfortable writing, drawing and planning.
Its low weight is particularly useful with a notebook designed to provide a broad writing area. The cover adds protection without the bulk of a hard binding and allows the pages to remain comfortable to use. It is a practical choice for students, writers, architects, designers and anyone who needs additional space for notes, diagrams, layouts or visual projects.
A surface that develops its own character
Cordoba paper is intended to change through use. Regular handling may gradually produce fine wrinkles, soft marks and subtle variations in texture, giving each cover a more individual appearance. The material can also be deliberately crumpled to create a more pronounced aged effect. These changes are part of the appeal of the paper rather than faults that compromise its function.
Despite its low weight and flexible construction, the paper is durable and resistant to tearing during repeated use. It forms the cover without wrapping a rigid inner board, allowing the notebook protector to adapt naturally to the hand and writing surface. The result is a tactile accessory that gradually records how and where the notebook has been used.
Careful construction from a single sheet
A single piece of Cordoba paper is folded at both sides to form the pockets that hold the notebook. Creating clean folds in this thicker material requires controlled pressure, while the edges are finished with carefully aligned stitching. The construction looks simple, but it reflects the MD PRODUCT approach: remove unnecessary elements, understand the material and give every detail a practical purpose.
A4 Variant size and compatible notebooks
This cover is designed exclusively for MD Notebook A4 Variant and MD Notebook Diary Thin A4 Variant. A4 Variant is the brand’s own format and should not be confused with a standard ISO A4 notebook. The notebook measures approximately 275 × 210 mm, so this cover is not intended as a universal sleeve for other A4 products.
Its broad writing area works particularly well for visual notes, diagrams, project development, calligraphy, sketching and layouts that benefit from additional horizontal space. Pair it with the MD PRODUCT A4 Variant Blank Notebook. Its thread-sewn binding opens flat, allowing the two-page spread to function as one continuous surface.

The history and philosophy of MD PRODUCT
The origins of MD PAPER date back to the 1960s, when the development of a paper focused on writing pleasure began. With the same attention to materials, MD PRODUCT selected Cordoba paper for a cover that preserves the warmth and tactile quality of paper while protecting the notebook without hiding its lightness or natural flexibility.
MD PRODUCT sees writing as a pause that helps people organise their thoughts and listen to their own ideas. The brand calls this valuable time for reflection Yohaku. Unnecessary elements are removed so that the paper, the hand and the writing instrument remain at the centre of the experience.
“A lightweight cover protects a generous writing space without standing between the hand, the paper and the idea.”
