The Midori MD Notebook A5 Dot Grid contains 176 cream MD PAPER pages with dots spaced at 5 mm intervals. The layout provides useful guidance without the continuous lines of a conventional grid. It is designed for fountain pen writing, bullet journaling, project planning, diagrams and pages that combine structured notes with freehand sketches.
The evenly spaced dots help align handwriting, divide the page, build tables and maintain proportion in a diagram. Because they occupy less visual space than full grid lines, written content and illustrations remain prominent while the page still provides a reliable framework.
The 5 mm spacing makes it easy to create calendars, trackers, lists, charts, mind maps and personalised layouts. It also suits notes that move between text and visual information, allowing the structure to change across the page without being confined to a fixed template.
The notebook is assembled from sections joined with durable thread stitching. It opens completely flat at 180 degrees, keeping the pages comfortably extended on a desk. You can write close to the centre fold, use each page independently or treat a full spread as one continuous working surface.
A conventional hard cover has been omitted to preserve flexibility and reveal the reinforcing mesh along the spine. The notebook is protected by a glassine paper wrapper inspired by the dust jackets of old books. It can remain in place during use or be removed to reveal the natural texture and restrained appearance of the paper.
Cream MD PAPER balances smooth nib movement with a controlled amount of feedback. Fountain pen lines remain clear, and the paper offers strong resistance to feathering and bleed-through under normal writing conditions. It also works comfortably with rollerballs, ballpoints, mechanical pencils and graphite.
Its warm tone is easy to view during extended writing sessions and provides a calm background for black, blue-black and coloured inks. The dot grid supports organisation while allowing handwriting, drawings and ink colours to determine the character of the finished page.
