Nagasawa Kobe Ink Seirei no Mori is a special edition green fountain pen ink inspired by a misty forest and created in collaboration with the atoa aquarium in Kobe. 50 ml bottle. Made in Japan.
The Nagasawa Kobe Ink Monogatari Seirei no Mori is a special edition fountain pen ink born from a cultural collaboration between Nagasawa Bungu Center and the artistic aquarium atoa, located inside the Kobe Port Museum. Its deep green tone evokes a spiritual forest shrouded in mist, where sunlight filters through the trees and water flows quietly. An ink designed for those who seek a contemplative and nature-inspired writing experience.
This ink is part of a special project developed in collaboration with atoa, a theatrical and sensory aquarium located in the Kobe Bay Area. Unlike a conventional aquarium, atoa blends art, architecture, sound, and living creatures to create immersive environments. Nagasawa translates this vision into ink, interpreting one of atoa’s exhibition worlds through color and handwriting.
Seirei no Mori (せいれいのもり, 精霊の森) means “Forest of Spirits.” This color is inspired by the ELEMENTS exhibition space at atoa, envisioned as a headwaters forest where mist rolls in and sunlight gently pours through the leaves. You can explore this space in detail on the official atoa website: atoa – ELEMENTS.
In this setting, visitors leave the underwater world and step into a fog-filled forest bathed in filtered light from above, encountering freshwater fish and amphibians that inhabit rivers and watersides. It is a fairy-tale-like world that conveys comfort, quiet wonder, and a deep connection to nature.
The color is an organic green with subtle aquatic undertones, reminiscent of dense vegetation, clear water, and humid forest air. Depending on the paper and nib used, it reveals gentle variations that add visual depth to writing. It is especially suited for journals, reflective writing, and texts where color enhances atmosphere without overpowering the words.
Like all inks in the Kobe Ink Monogatari series, this special edition is produced in Japan in collaboration with Sailor, following Nagasawa’s chromatic and conceptual specifications. It offers stable flow and reliable fountain pen performance, both with fine nibs and broader writing instruments.

Nagasawa Bungu Center has been a cultural landmark in the city of Kobe since the late 19th century. Originally founded as a bookstore and stationery shop, it has grown into a creative reference point connecting writing, place, and Japanese craftsmanship. The Kobe Ink Monogatari series embodies this philosophy by offering inks that tell stories rooted in landscapes, locations, and emotions tied to Kobe and its surroundings.
"Every color is a landscape; every stroke, a way of inhabiting it."
