The Nagasawa Blanc de Chine Fountain Pen is inspired by traditional Chinese white porcelain and the Kobe INK “Jin Jun Mei Gold.” Featuring a porcelain-like PMMA body, gold accents and a 21K gold nib, it offers a refined, balanced writing experience. Includes a complimentary ink bottle for immediate use.
The Nagasawa Blanc de Chine is a fountain pen inspired by traditional Chinese white porcelain, admired for its purity, soft luminosity and serene presence. Originating in Fujian —a region renowned for both its fine ceramics and exceptional teas— this edition recreates a porcelain-like white rarely achieved in fountain pen materials, offering a writing experience that is refined, calm and visually distinctive.
This release is closely connected to the Kobe INK Monogatari “Jin Jun Mei Gold,” launched in May 2025 and inspired by the prestigious Fujian tea of the same name. Tea has a long history in China, with origins dating back to around 2700 BC, and it became a widespread cultural practice during the Tang Dynasty (618–907). Just as tea reveals depth and nuance when served in white porcelain vessels, the Blanc de Chine enhances the character, shading and warmth of ink through a design defined by harmony, balance and cultural symbolism.
The body, cap and grip section —all in the same porcelain-like tone— are crafted from PMMA resin with a smooth finish. The design incorporates a gold-plated ring and a circular emblem on the top of the cap, inspired by the seal used in Kobe INK Monogatari bottles. These elements provide visual identity while preserving the pen’s clean, cohesive character. The 21K gold nib, engraved with Nagasawa’s signature weathervane, delivers precise feedback and a fluid writing experience rooted in craftsmanship.
The Blanc de Chine uses a cartridge-converter filling system (converter included) and is available in F, MF and M nib sizes. The 21K nib offers steady, smooth ink flow suitable for everyday writing or more expressive strokes. The grip section, matching the body’s color, ensures visual continuity and a comfortable transition between components.
To fully enjoy the nib’s smoothness and ink performance, we recommend pairing this pen with high-quality Japanese paper. Options such as the Ginkouka Ruled Pad or the Mujinzo Psychopsis Papilio notebook enhance shading, flow and the Blanc de Chine’s expressive writing character.
Includes the Nagasawa Blanc de Chine fountain pen, converter, spare cartridge and, at Inktraveler, we include a complimentary ink bottle so you can enjoy writing from the very first moment. This edition is highly recommended for fountain pen enthusiasts as well as for those who appreciate Chinese history, tea culture and finely crafted objects.

Since the late nineteenth century, Nagasawa has played a central role in Kobe’s writing culture, creating instruments that harmonize aesthetic sensitivity, craftsmanship and everyday usability. The Blanc de Chine reflects this philosophy by linking Japanese design with ancient Chinese traditions of porcelain and tea. It is a pen that invites calm, focus and appreciation of the moment when ink meets paper.
"Porcelain keeps the light; writing keeps the moment."
