The Nagasawa Bitter Chocolate Fountain Pen is inspired by the Felissimo Chocolate Museum × Kobe INK Monogatari collaboration. It combines a chocolate-brown body with pink gold trim, a stainless-steel nib with weather vane motif and a cacao detail on the cap finial.
The Nagasawa Bitter Chocolate Fountain Pen translates the deep and elegant character of dark chocolate into a distinctive writing instrument. Created as part of the collaboration between the Felissimo Chocolate Museum and Kobe INK Monogatari, this fountain pen expands the Bitter Chocolate concept beyond ink, creating a writing instrument designed to complement it both visually and conceptually.
Its colour scheme combines a sophisticated chocolate-brown body with pink gold trim. The warm metallic accents add subtle brightness while preserving the understated character of the design, resulting in a refined and carefully balanced fountain pen.
The concept is inspired by a phrase associated with the Bitter Chocolate ink packaging: “Life is like chocolate; the bitterness enhances the sweetness.” This idea is reflected in a mature colour combination in which the depth of the brown body is softened by the warmth of the pink-gold details.
Several exclusive Nagasawa details reinforce the identity of the pen. The stainless-steel nib has a buffed finish and features a laser-engraved weather vane motif, a distinctive symbol associated with Kobe and Nagasawa's original fountain pens. The cap finial is decorated with a small cacao motif, directly referencing the chocolate-inspired theme of the collection.
The Bitter Chocolate is based on the Professional Gear model in a ringless configuration. Its compact and balanced proportions create a clean silhouette in which the brown resin and pink-gold trim remain the dominant visual elements.
The fountain pen is available with EF, F, MF, M and B nib sizes, covering everything from a very fine and precise writing line to a broader stroke. It uses a cartridge/converter filling system, with the converter sold separately.
Founded in Kobe in 1882, Nagasawa Bungu Center has been part of the city's writing culture for more than a century. Its history combines the tradition of a specialist stationery store with a continuous search for original products capable of expressing the identity of Kobe through colour, design and carefully considered details.
Nagasawa's original fountain pens reflect this philosophy through thoughtfully developed collaborations, distinctive finishes and motifs connected with the city and its history. More than simple writing instruments, they are created for everyday use while conveying a particular appreciation for Japanese stationery, craftsmanship and the pleasure of writing.
