Design and concept
The "Water Surface" finish is inspired by the glimmering texture of calm water. Each pen features hand-cut mother-of-pearl (raden) fragments set against polished black urushi lacquer. No two pens are the same — their organic variations give depth and a one-of-a-kind brilliance to each piece. The raden technique requires the skilled touch of Japanese artisans, preserving centuries of decorative mastery.
Functionality and filling system
Pilot's Capless mechanism allows the nib to be deployed with a click, combining convenience with classic fountain pen writing. This pen is compatible only with Pilot ink cartridges or the CON-40 converter. Due to the internal retraction mechanism, it cannot be used with the CON-70 converter.

Brand history and philosophy
Pilot's story began in 1918 when two Japanese naval engineers, Ryosuke Namiki and Masao Wada, developed a fountain pen resilient to the harsh conditions at sea.
