Design & feel
Made from glossy black PMMA resin with flat-top ends, the 912 nods to Pilot’s 1960s classics while looking perfectly at home in a modern studio. Rhodium-plated trim and an engraved center band add understated polish. At 137 mm closed and roughly 20.5 g inked, it balances comfortably; the gently tapered grip keeps marathon writing sessions cramp-free.
Soft Medium #10, 14 k gold nib
Hand-tuned in Japan, the SM nib uses slimmer tines and a lateral cut-away to deliver controlled springiness. Light pressure yields a consistent medium stroke; press a little harder and the line widens toward 1 mm, providing eye-catching shading and expressive curves without risking misalignment. The feel is buttery with just enough feedback to guide every flourish.
Filling system & capacity
Equipped with the CON-70 converter, the pen holds about 1.1 ml of ink—more than double the standard Pilot CON-40’s 0.4 ml. The push-button plunger fills in a single plunge and cleans easily. Travelling light? Swap in a Pilot IC-50 cartridge for a mess-free refill.
