The Platinum Procyon fountain pen is named after the brightest star in the Canis Minor constellation, one of the 21 first-magnitude stars visible from Earth. Designed to deliver optimal performance and reliability, it blends astronomical inspiration with cutting-edge Japanese writing technology.
The Procyon Luster series is an evolution of the classic Procyon. This Champagne Gold model features a satin finish with anodized aluminum treatment, offering a smooth, refined texture. As a distinctive detail, the crown on top of the cap is chrome-plated.
Acknowledged for its functionality, this series was awarded the Grand Prize in the Functionality Category at the 2019 Stationery of the Year Awards for its balanced design and advanced writing system.
Design and Writing System
While visually elegant, this fountain pen truly excels in performance. The anodized aluminum body provides an excellent weight balance for comfortable writing. The stainless steel nib, based on Platinum’s original pentagon-shaped design from 1962, offers smoothness and writing flexibility.
It also features Platinum’s patented Slip & Seal mechanism, which prevents ink from drying out—even after long periods of disuse. The redesigned feed maximizes ink usage down to the last drop.
