This exclusive Tsuru edition of the Platinum 3776 Century Midnight Ocean features a celluloid body and a nib modified by nibmeister José Munuera. It offers rich stroke variation based on writing angle.
This special edition of the Platinum 3776 Century is crafted in Japanese celluloid and reflects the mysterious depth of the ocean at night. Rich blue layers and subtle pearlescence make each piece unique. The warmth and camphor scent of celluloid add to the sensory experience of writing. Ideal for collectors and calligraphy lovers looking for something rare and meaningful.
After a long curing process of over six months, the body is shaped and polished with great care. It houses a hand-modified 14K gold nib known as the Tsuru, which gives this piece its distinctive personality. The iconic heart-shaped breather hole enhances ink flow and adds flexibility to the stroke, while Platinum’s patented “Slip & Seal” system ensures the pen remains ink-ready for extended periods.
The Tsuru (“Crane”) nib on this Platinum 3776 is the personal interpretation by nibmeister José Munuera (Niblab) of the traditional Naginata Togi style. Starting from a Coarse Platinum nib, Munuera reshapes the iridium into a modified profile that adapts line width to writing angle: fine when written with a high angle, medium at a standard angle, and broad when written low to the paper.
In addition, this custom nib adds contrast between vertical and horizontal lines, creating nuanced strokes with expressiveness and control. The Tsuru nib is the result of delicate handwork, blending precision with artistic intention — a writing tool for those who seek character and subtlety in every word.
José Munuera is a Spanish nibmeister who works on nibs from many prestigious brands. With craftsmanship and intuition, he creates results like this Tsuru profile that has become highly sought-after by writers looking for something truly special.

To preserve your pen in perfect condition, please:
Celluloid should be stored away from sunlight and heat, as it may fade or warp. It is highly flammable — keep away from open flames. Avoid ink contact with the barrel or cap to preserve its beauty.
