The Sailor Shikiori Potsupotsu 20 ml Fountain Pen Ink is part of Sailor’s Shikiori collection and, more specifically, the Sounds of Rain series. Created to accompany the Sailor fountain pens of the same name, this collection is inspired by the different sounds rain makes as it falls across the Japanese landscape. Potsupotsu represents the first scattered drops of winter rain, a gentle and intermittent sound that announces the arrival of rainfall and gradually transforms the scenery.

Potsupotsu and the Japanese Winter

The Sounds of Rain series takes inspiration from the way rainfall changes the appearance of trees, flowers and landscapes throughout the seasons. Sailor sought to capture how the sparkle of water droplets alters the perception of colours in nature, creating subtle variations that depend on light, moisture and the time of day.

Potsupotsu appears as an elegant deep blue-violet colour that evokes winter skies and the calm atmosphere of light rain falling over the landscape.
