Sailor Shikiori Dual Tip Brush Marker with water-based dye ink and two tips: a brush tip for expressive strokes and a fine round tip for writing and details. Available in 20 colours inspired by the four seasons of Japan. Ideal for lettering, drawing, illustration, journaling, planners and creative writing.
The Sailor Shikiori Dual Tip Brush Marker brings the colours of Shikiori fountain pen inks to a different and highly versatile format. Its two tips let you move between expressive brush strokes and fine lines for writing or adding small details. Available in 20 colours inspired by the four seasons of Japan, it is ideal for lettering, drawing, illustration, journaling and creative writing.
Each marker features a brush tip and a fine round tip. The brush tip has just the right degree of firmness to control movement and vary the stroke through pressure and hand movement. At the opposite end, the fine tip provides greater precision for writing, outlines, notes and small details. Two different ways to work with the same colour without changing tools.
This combination makes the marker suitable for writing and drawing, lettering, decorating planners and notebooks, or adding small accents of colour to a page. It can also be paired with a fountain pen filled with a similar Shikiori shade, allowing you to explore the same colour palette through different writing instruments and types of stroke.
The collection consists of 20 colours, with five shades inspired by each of the four Japanese seasons. Spring, summer, autumn and winter are represented through colours drawn from the landscapes and subtle changes of nature in Japan. Each marker lets you choose one of these shades individually and enjoy it in a more immediate format than bottled fountain pen ink.
Sailor has developed the marker ink to reproduce the corresponding colour from the Shikiori collection. However, although it is designed to represent the appearance of the fountain pen ink, its composition is different: this product uses water-based dye ink specifically formulated for the marker.
The range includes five colours inspired by each season of the year, reflecting some of the most distinctive shades in the Shikiori collection:
• Chushu – mid-autumn grey
• Doyou – deep summer
• Fuji-Sugata – wisteria purple
• Irori – glowing ember red
• Kin-Mokusei – osmanthus orange
• Miruai – indigo seaweed green
• Nioi-Sumire – fragrant violet
• Okuyama – distant mountain
• Rikyucha – Japanese tea brown
• Sakura-Mori – cherry blossom pink
• Shigure – late-autumn rain
• Shimoyo – night frost
• Souten – clear sky blue
• Tokiwa-Matsu – evergreen pine
• Waka-Uguisu – Japanese bush warbler green
• Yamadori – copper pheasant
• Yodaki – summer night fire
• Yonaga – long autumn nights
• Yozakura – cherry blossoms beneath the night sky
• Yuki-Akari – glow of snow
Measuring approximately 153 mm in length and weighing only 9.5 g, the Shikiori Dual Tip Brush Marker is easy to carry in a pen case alongside fountain pens, pencils and other writing instruments. The barrel, caps and tip sections are made from recycled polypropylene resin, while the cap plugs are made from polycarbonate resin.
At Inktraveler, the opportunity to use a familiar Shikiori colour beyond the fountain pen is particularly interesting: the dual-tip design offers new ways to work with well-known shades and combine different forms of writing, drawing and detail on the same page.
You will receive 1 Sailor Shikiori dual tip marker in your selected colour. The marker has a brush tip at one end and a fine round tip at the other. (Product photographs are for reference only, and colours displayed on screen may differ from the actual shade).

Its dual-tip design makes it suitable for writing, lettering, drawing, sketching, illustration, journals, planners and other creative work where both a brush tip and a finer point are useful.
Shikiori expresses the relationship between writing and the four seasons of Japan. Sailor draws on a tradition spanning more than a thousand years, in which seasonal landscapes have been celebrated through poetry, writing and painting, and transforms that sensitivity into colourful writing instruments. The seasons return year after year, yet every moment is fleeting; in the same way, the same colour can evoke a different landscape or memory for each person.
"One colour can tell many different stories; choose yours and let it unfold on the page."
