The Taccia Covenant, is a Japanese Yatates like fountain pen, as used in the Edo period.

Yatate can literally be translated as a support for arrows, or quiver, and they were the solution for transporting brushes and ink, without risk of accidents. The brush was completely inserted into the sheath, being fixed by the distal end of the handle.

This traditional design is the one used by Taccia in its Covenant model, where the fountain pen is fully inserted into the cap and protected from scratches, both in the body and in its magnificent two-tone gold nib, manufactured by Sailor for the firm based in Izumo.
