The Taccia Granite Stone – Blue blends Japanese craftsmanship with a natural granite-inspired texture, ebonite body, Sailor nib, and timeless elegance.
The word “granite” comes from the Latin “granum,” meaning “grain,” in reference to the stone’s crystalline structure. In Japan, granite has long been admired for its durability and beauty, and has been widely used in architecture and sculpture.
The Taccia Granite Stone – Blue Fountain Pen captures the essence of granite through a special lacquering technique that replicates its natural appearance. Each piece showcases unique tonal variations, reflecting the visual richness and depth of the stone—even in its darkest shades. The body is crafted from Japanese ebonite, a noble material that provides warmth and personality.
Taccia's Granite Stone collection embodies the variability of natural granite, presenting nine magnificent color variations. Each shade enhances the natural beauty and depth of the stone, resulting in a bold and distinguished appearance.
Equipped with a bicolor stainless steel nib made by Sailor, this fountain pen ensures a smooth, precise, and enjoyable writing experience. It supports both Sailor cartridges and converters, offering versatility for all kinds of users.
The pen is presented in a carefully designed official Taccia case. At Inktraveler, we include a beautiful glass ink bottle as a complimentary gift to enhance your writing experience.
In addition, this item includes free shipping from our store in Spain, as part of our commitment to providing the best service.
Taccia was founded in 2003 by Shu-Jen Lin in California, with the goal of offering fountain pens that blend traditional Japanese techniques—such as urushi lacquer and raden (mother-of-pearl)—with modern, minimalist designs. Initially, the brand focused on the U.S. and Canadian markets, standing out for its use of ebonite bodies and refined aesthetics.
In 2011, the American division of the Japanese company Itoya acquired Taccia and hired the founder herself as Brand Manager of Itoya USA, ensuring continuity in design and brand identity. This collaboration enabled Taccia to expand while preserving its unique character.
On April 1st, 2018, Taccia was acquired by Nakabayashi Co., Ltd., a Japanese stationery firm founded in 1923 in Osaka. This acquisition strengthened Taccia’s commitment to Japanese craftsmanship, allowing it to combine traditional techniques with contemporary design. The brand remains renowned for its dedication to quality, detail, and innovation.
"Each stroke with the Taccia Granite Stone connects you to history, substance, and Japanese elegance."
