Taccia Hare-hi Yoi Enbu Pluma Estilográfica
The Taccia Hare-hi Yoi Enbu Fountain Pen is part of the Hare-hi 百工比照漆万年筆 collection, inspired by traditional Japanese summer festivals celebrated under clear, radiant skies. “Hare-hi” means “beautiful sunny day,” evoking the joy and vibrancy of those gatherings, while “Yoi Enbu” refers to the reddish-brown hue reminiscent of evening dances by torchlight. Expert Urushi lacquer craftsmen designed this pen to capture the festive atmosphere: the warm, layered lacquer finish shifts subtly in tone as light moves across its surface, reflecting both earthy depth and a gentle red glow.
Drawing inspiration from traditional summer celebrations held on sunny days, the Hare-hi Yoi Enbu design balances elegance with warmth. The ebonite barrel and cap are coated with successive layers of Yoi Enbu brown Urushi lacquer, each layer painted by hand and polished to build depth and clarity. This process creates nuanced color variations—some areas appear rich and dark, others exhibit a soft reddish glow—mirroring the energy and warmth of festival dances as dusk falls. The result is a pen that conveys both serenity and liveliness, with a finish that changes subtly depending on light and viewing angle.
Equipped with a two-tone 14K gold nib, crafted and adjusted by Sailor in Japan, this fountain pen delivers a smooth, consistent ink flow—ideal for both daily writing and more elaborate calligraphy, depending on the chosen nib size (EF/F/MF/M/B/MS). Its filling system accepts either a Sailor cartridge or converter, giving users the flexibility to choose between convenience or bottle-ink refills. Airtight threading allows the cap to be posted and unposted in a single turn, ensuring a perfect seal and immediate readiness. With a body diameter of 13.8 mm and a total length of 150 mm, this 30 g pen strikes the perfect balance between portability and stability for extended writing sessions.
Taccia is a Japanese brand specializing in fountain pens, inks, and pen cases made from kimono fabrics. Founded in 2003 by Shu-Jen Lin in California, Taccia’s mission was to introduce traditional Japanese decorative techniques—such as Urushi lacquer, raden (mother-of-pearl), ebonite bodies, and minimalist design—to the U.S. and Canadian markets. In 2011, Itoya’s American division acquired Taccia and appointed Shu-Jen Lin as Brand Manager to ensure continuity in design and style. Since April 1, 2018, Taccia has been part of Nakabayashi (established in 1923 in Osaka), preserving its Japanese essence and relying exclusively on Sailor for nib manufacturing. Attention to detail is evident in the precise cap fit and the Urushi lacquer applied to the grip section. Each pen is presented in a refined case to ensure protection and impeccable presentation.
Taccia stands behind its products with a Limited Lifetime Mechanical Warranty for the original owner. This warranty covers defects in materials or workmanship for the life of the product. It does not cover damage resulting from user abuse, misuse, or any non‐factory alterations.
