Concept & Design
The Taccia Covenant traces its lineage back to the Edo-period Yatates used by samurai and scholars. “Yatate” literally translates to “arrow quiver” or “sheath,” and it served as an ingenious solution for carrying brushes and ink securely, with the brush fully enclosed in its holder. Taccia’s Covenant model adopts this same principle: the fountain pen is completely housed within its screw-on cap, protecting the resin body and its outstanding two-tone 14K gold nib—manufactured by Sailor in Izumo—from scratches and exposure. When posted, the cap aligns perfectly with the barrel, creating a seamless profile reminiscent of the uninterrupted form of historic Yatate pens.

The filling system uses a single Sailor short ink cartridge, ensuring a precise fit and reliable ink supply.
