Design and concept
The 3776 Century series is named after the height of Mount Fuji (3,776 meters), symbolizing Platinum’s pursuit of perfection in writing tools. Functionality and filling system

Brand heritage
Founded in 1919, Platinum Pen Co. is one of Japan’s most respected fountain pen manufacturers. The brand is known for combining meticulous craftsmanship with continuous innovation. The 3776 series takes its name from the height of Mount Fuji—Japan’s highest and most iconic mountain.
The original 3776 was released in 1978, designed by the late writing expert Haruo Umeda—also known as “Mr. Fountain Pen”—in collaboration with Platinum’s design team. Within six months of its launch, over 150,000 pens had been sold, marking the beginning of a series that remains popular to this day.
Between 2009 and 2011, Platinum undertook a major technical renewal, incorporating over 40,000 writing samples gathered by its subsidiary Nakaya. The nibs, feeds, and all structural parts were redesigned using new molds and modern machinery, resulting in the current “Motosu” and “Century” models that reflect a perfect harmony of form and function.

La Platinum 3776 Century no solo ha cumplido con mis expectativas, sino que las ha superado con amplias creces. El cuerpo está constituido con resina de la mejor de las calidades, de un azabache translúcido. El trazo, fino y elegante, se mantiene ininterrumpido durante kilométricas extensiones, ofreciendo un caudal constante y húmedo, a la par que delicado y menudo. Su sistema de sellado Slip & Seal característico, impide magistralmente la deshidratación del plumín incluso tras luengas extensiones de tiempo. Y hablando del plumín, qué se puede decir, es flexible y considerado, se amolda a la perfección a todo tipo de papeles y fuerza empleada, deslizándose con suavidad extrema. <br /> Además del estilógrafo y sus características excelentes, es mi obligación mencionar el impecable trato de quien haya preparado la herramienta. Pedí expresamente que se probara con antelación y, en efecto, enviaron un escrito verificándolo. <br /> Ha de ser asimismo mentado el cartucho convertidor que incluyen con el paquete, el oficial de Platinum, de remates metálicos plateados y rosca sedosa. El tintero de marca Sailor añadido, contiene una tinta de buena calidad muy adecuada para este artículo. Igualmente, me es ineludible citar los folletos encartados, de los cuales sin duda escogeré algo de su variado género.<br /> Por supuesto, me es imperativo referirme a la garantía oficial de Platinum, acogida en el interior del estuche.<br /> El envío, aunque no es íntegramente responsabilidad de Inktraveler, fue también genuinamente positivo, llegando en un breve lapso y en condiciones magníficas.<br /> Adicionalmente, me es ineludible comentar que me he retrasado un par de meses en redactar esta reseña para poder expresarme con total sinceridad, a pesar de la tal vez excesiva longitud de la crítica.
